Jane Davenport

I think Jane Davenport is a great artist.
This painting was made to a preview of her.

Different girls and backgrounds

I worked on different girls  and used different materials.
The hair of this girl was painted with Amsterdam paint. I used stencils for the background.

For the background of this girl I used gelatos.

for this background I used aquarel paint but didnot dilute it and wiped it out with my fingers.
I worked with instant filler on stencils.

peeled paint technique

The background of this painting is called 'peeled paint'.
On the first layer with acrylic paint you put on some spots a little bit vaseline.
Then you paint the next layer with a different color. On the spots with vaseline you remove the paint of the second layer and the color of your first layer comes through.
So you can adjust more layers and see the former colors.
I painted the imperfect girl with acrylic paint.
You can find films of this technique on Youtube.

color girl

I really love all those colors on this painting.
I used aquarel paint for the background and acrylic paint for the girl.
I created the circles with a stencil and I used a few stamps.

Art Journal

This is a whimsy girl in my Art Journal. I used a painting of Tamara Laporte as an example.

my next girl

Again I worked with aquarel paint for the background and acrylic paint for the girl. Bubble plastic for the dots.
She is imperfect, but I think she is fantastic!

another imperfect girl

Practice, practice and practice!!
I love these imperfect girls.
I find it very difficult to get the right colors for the face.

Art Journal

For the left page I used a workshop of Trees de Vrieze from my facebookgroup Petra's World of Art Dutch
and for the right page I worked after an example of Tamara Laporte http://www.willowing.org/, she really is my favorite mixed media artist. I used acrylic paint and gelatos.

gypsy girl

Background = watercolors
girl = acrylic paint
I was inspired by a painting from Tamara Laporte of a gypsy girl.
I worked a little bit transparant so you can see the background trough the painting.

Challenge flower/butterfly/and the color rose

For a challenge from Hobbyshop Sandra
I created this canvasboard.
I used stencils with instant filler. Than I sprayed dylusion ink over it.
I painted the flower on a different paper and glued it on the canvas. At last I glued the two butterflies on the canvasboard.

mixed media on canvas

My first mixed media canvas.
I sprayed the canvas with neon yellow and rose paint and than sprayed dylusions ink.
I used  instant filler on stencils and painted the chipboard and the keys with copper of Creall.
I glued everything on the canvas and finished it with the flowers and the butterfly.

It has been a long time .....

It has been a long time since I started this blog.
So many things have happened in the past 2½ years.
I have learned a lot during that time and I now want to show you my paintings and mixed media and AJ (art journal).
I am still learning everyday. I love this creative travel!

This is my first 'imperfect girl'.
I learned to paint her and the background during an online workshop on a facebookgroup.

First sprayed  the background with ink and paint. I drawed the girl. Used a posca pen for the text and the circles and a stencil for the dots.
